Two sisters returned home, to Buriram, after college seeking to relieve poverty and to provide jobs by using the traditional textile skills of its weavers. Their enterprise is a great success and now their weavers are providing silk for the project of Queen Sirikit of Thailand’s projects. While the traditional ikat designs they produce are plentiful these scarves represent innovative ikat work, a variation on the Chinese Key motif. Hand reeled silk gives it a special texture and the unique design and color makes this scarf a true original.
